NPC Standing Committee meeting: Dahal to answer queries on Saturday



KATHMANDU: A total of 10 leaders aired their views on Thursday during the Standing Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

Leaders Kiran Gurung, Chakrapani Khanal, Subash Nembang, Bishnu Rimal, Bhim Acharya, Narayankaji Shrestha, Ishwor Pokharel, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal spoke today.

According to Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha, most of the leaders gave suggestions on the political dossier by Chairmen and statute amendment proposal tabled by General Secretary Bishnu Poudel.

Speaking at the meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Dhumbarahi, Political Advisor to PM KP Oli, Bishnu Rimal expressed his discontent over remarks by the leaders on factions at the party.

Likewise, Standing Committee member Subash Nembang pointed out that the political dossier by Chairman duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Oli was appropriate.

He added that the party’s votes increased in the recently-held by-elections and the party should not be sad from the election outcome.

Similarly, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal accused that the party has been running in a wayward manner. He added that the party is not being governed by its statute.

Speaking by seeking a special time, leader Bhim Rawal objected to the party’s decision to form an electoral alliance with the Rastriya Janata Party for the National Assembly elections. He recreated a poem to express his discontent.

According to Spokesperson Shrestha, the leaders will discuss with Chairman duo on the views expressed on the political dossier and statute amendment proposal on Friday.

The next meeting will be held at 11 am on Saturday at which Chairman Dahal will be answering the questions raised during the meeting.
