Cold grips valley as mercury dips to 3.5 degree Celsius

KATHMANDU: Normal life has been affected in the Kathmandu Valley with the mercury dipping to 3.5 degree Celsius on Wednesday morning.

This is probably the record-low temperature of the year, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD). It was recorded at 5 degree Celsius on Tuesday morning.

Even though snowfall and rains have stopped, the temperature has gone down further across the country.

The tarai region including the capital are covered in thick fog in the morning and the same weather will continue during the day in most parts of the country today.

The elderly, children and labors have been the most affected.
