KATHMANDU: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Sunday finalized five agendas for the Standing Committee meeting slated for later today.

NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said the meeting fixed political dossier, statute amendment, next meeting of the central committee, Nepal-India border dispute and miscellaneous as the agendas for the meeting.

PM Oli also attended the meeting for a few minutes that was held at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

“He apprised the meeting on his health condition. PM Oli said he has been recovering at a full speed,” Shrestha said.

NCP is holding a meeting of the Standing Committee of the party after a hiatus of one year.

The meeting had failed to convene although the party’s statute mentions the meeting should be held every three months.

Activities within the party have gained momentum after Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal got an executive role. An earlier Secretariat meeting has summoned the Standing Committee meeting for today.

During the meeting, Chairman Dahal will be presenting a political dossier and work plan for the coming six months. He had discussed the issues with another Chairman KP Oli at prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.

The meeting will endorse the decision of the Secretariat meeting to nominate leader Bamdev Gautam as the vice-chairman of the party.
