KATHMANDU: Nepal Student’s Union (NSU), the student wing Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the resignation of Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa for the police brutality on Sunday’s peaceful protest launched by students of Kohalpur in Banke.

NSU on Monday staged a rally in Kathmandu demanding the Home Minister’s resignation.

Students of a local school had on Sunday obstructed the road and staged a demonstration after a truck hit and severely injured a school-going girl on Sunday morning.

Police had taken to baton-charge the protestors while trying to resume the traffic. Several students and police personnel were injured in the clash between the two sides.
