Newly elected HoR member Bhattarai to work for prosperity mission



POKHARA: Newly elected House of Representatives (HoR) member Bidya Bhattarai has committed to intensifying developmental activities in her constituency.

She won from Kaski Constituency-2 with a wide margin of 8,403 votes in the by-election held Saturday. Bhattarai secured 24,394 votes while her nearest contender Khem Raj Poudel from main opposition Nepali Congress got 15,991.

Following the victory of Bhattarai, spouse of Rabindra Adhikari, the then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, committed to materialize the dream of Rabindra. Adhikari was killed in a helicopter crash on February 27 in Taplejung.

In the victory rally, Bhattarai pledged to live up to the expectations of the voters from late minister Adhikari and the NCP. She pledged to work to materialize the government’s campaign of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’.
