KATHMANDU: The United States has extended its sincere congratulations to the people of Nepal on the occasion of Constitution Day.
In a statement issued on behalf of the US government, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US-Nepal relationship spans nearly 80 years and expressed the US commitment to further strengthening the partnership through expanded trade, innovation and investment ties for the mutual benefit of both countries.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and communities devastated by the recent flash floods, including our fellow Americans affected by this tragedy,” Rubio said.
He added that, as search, rescue and recovery efforts continue, the United States stands with Nepal in mourning those who lost their lives and remains committed to supporting the country’s recovery efforts.
