All-party meeting begins in Singha Durbar on disaster management



KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting has begun at Singha Durbar to discuss the formation of a high-level political mechanism for disaster risk reduction and management.

The meeting was convened by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane. Leaders from various political parties are attending the meeting to discuss ways to strengthen coordination on disaster preparedness, response, relief, and management.

RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel said the meeting will focus on disaster risk reduction and management, among other issues.

The discussions come amid growing concerns over the impact of recent floods and other disasters, with the proposed mechanism aimed at improving coordination among political parties and relevant authorities in responding to such emergencies.
