KATHMANDU: Dipak Kumar Sah, who was recommended as the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, has taken the oath of office.
Sah took the oath at the President’s Office in Sheetal Niwas.
President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, among others, attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Sah was appointed minister following the resignation of Gauri Kumari Yadav from the post.
Sah, who had served as a vice president of CK Raut’s Janamat Party, joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party ahead of the March 5 election. He has been involved in various issues related to climate change and is regarded as an influential technical figure within the party.
He is considered close to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and party leader Amresh Kumar Singh. It has been claimed that Sah joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party with Shah’s initiative.
Sah defeated Nepali Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki in the March 5 election.
