KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) are scheduled to meet today, with bills related to the Nepal Law Commission and reconciliation on the agenda of the lower house and a report on the Nepal Special Service Act set for discussion in the upper house.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam is scheduled to present the Nepal Law Commission (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 at the meeting of the House of Representatives, which will be held at Singha Durbar at 1:00 pm.
Similarly, Minister Gautam will present a proposal seeking consideration of the Reconciliation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, there is also a possible agenda for Minister Gautam to present a proposal seeking Nepal’s membership in the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions.
The National Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1:15 pm. During the meeting, a committee report on the Nepal Special Service Act, 2042: Revival of Existing Provisions Bill, 2083 will be presented. Krishna Bahadur Rokaya, chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, is expected to present the report.
Similarly, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal is scheduled to inform the House about the contents of a letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the assignment of Cabinet members.
Meanwhile, the Finance Committee and the Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee are also scheduled to meet today.
