Snow fall paralyzes life in far-west Nepal

SURKHET:  Incessant snowfall has paralyzed life in mid and far-west Nepal. Snow fall has complicated life in Dolpa, Mugu and Jumla districts. Air and land transport services in the mountainous districts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces have been disrupted. Besides, the government offices, schools, industries and non-government offices have also been closed down due to the freezing temperature, according to Madhav Prasad Dhungana, chief district officer (CDO) of Humla who shared that two to five feet snow remains piled up in the far flung area.

The most hit hard by the snowfall and dipping temperature are children, patients, senior citizens and disadvantaged people, shared Netra Bahadur Shahim a local journalist.
