Cabinet reshuffle: Crucial NCP Secretariat meeting begins at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat has begun at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting is said to endorse Prime Minister K P Oli’s decision on the Cabinet reshuffle.

Prime Minister Oli had on Tuesday told his ministers that a Cabinet reshuffle will take place on Wednesday.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Oli and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had reached Sheetal Niwas to apprise President Bidya Bhandari of the decision on the cabinet reshuffle.

Meanwhile, PM Oli is likely to remove cabinet ministers, including Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav; Minister for Agriculture, Chakrapani Khanal; Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth; Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Tham Maya Thapa Magar; Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Lalbabu Pandit; and Minister for Sports, Jagat Bisworkarma.

Sources said new faces likely to be inducted in the cabinet include Amanlal Modi, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Prabhu Sah, Pampha Bhusal, Janardhan Sharma, Ghanashyam Bhusal, and Mahesh Basnet.

On Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Oli, Dahal and party General Secretary Bishnu Paudel held a meeting on the cabinet reshuffle at Baluwatar.
