Two arrested for assaulting foreign nationals



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two men from Kathmandu’s Lazimpat area on charges of assaulting foreign nationals and engaging in abusive conduct at a dance club.

According to Kathmandu District Police Range spokesperson DSP Kaushal Kumar Budhathoki, the suspects have been identified as Mahesh Rokaya of Beldandi, Kanchanpur, and Surendra Shrestha of Nuwakot. They were arrested from the Bollywood Dance Club in Lazimpat.

Police said the dance club allegedly assaulted an Indian national, issued an inflated bill, and forced the victim to pay through mobile banking.

The two suspects are also accused of obstructing police officers and physically assaulting them during the operation.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
