All 20 victims identified in Rolpa jeep accident



ROLPA: Authorities have completed the identification of all 20 people who died in a jeep accident in Rolpa district.

According to DSP Birendra Kumar Biswa Karma of the District Police Office, Rolpa, the victims have been fully identified.

The accident occurred on Thursday when a Bolero jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4167) carrying passengers returning from a fair held on the occasion of Baishakh Purnima in Jaljala, Rolpa, met with an accident.

The victims were from Siske Rural Municipality–5, Takura village in Rolpa District, Ghhorahi Sub-Metropolitan City–15, Ratanpur in Dang District, and Bhumek Rural Municipality in East Rukum.

One person was injured in the incident. The injured, identified as Samir Kami of Siske–5, has already been discharged after treatment, police said.

Police have completed the recovery of bodies from the accident site and are in the process of handing them over to the respective families.

Authorities also released the list of the deceased, including members of multiple families and the vehicle driver.

The deceased include Gorkha Bahadur Budhathoki (32), Tilkumari Budhathoki (53), Yuba Budhathoki (28), Divyan Budhathoki (10), Srijana Budhathoki (24), Sudeep Budhathoki (13), Omkumari Budhathoki (40), Mina Kami (60), Laxmi Shah (60) and Rukmina Basnet from Siske–5, Takura, Rolpa. From Bhumek–5, East Rukum, Tek Prasad Budha Magar was killed in the accident.

From Ghhorahi–15, Ratanpur, Dang, the deceased are Dorpati GC (54), Tila GC (32), Jenis GC (7), Jenisa GC (12), Elina GC (25), Sanyog GC (7), Yam Bahadur GC (age not stated), and Dhanmaya Bista of Shantinagar, Dang, who was currently residing in Siske–5, Rukum East.

The driver of the jeep, Bedu Kami (42), also died in the accident.
