KAVREPALANCHOWK: The District Police Office has identified 88 polling stations in Kavrepalanchowk as sensitive ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.
Of the total sensitive polling stations, 23 have been classified as ‘highly sensitive,’ police said.
District Police Chief Komal Shah told RSS that security arrangements will be tightened at both sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations. “Security personnel will be deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the election,” he said.
A total of 2,269 election police personnel are planned to be mobilized in the district, including 1,115 from the Nepal Police and 350 from the Armed Police Force.
According to official data, Kavrepalanchowk has 326,611 voters, including 167,499 males, 159,110 females, and two voters from another gender category.
Meanwhile, written examinations and interviews for the selection of election police were conducted in Dhulikhel on Thursday in preparation for the polls.
The district has two parliamentary constituencies for the upcoming HoR election.
