During an inspection at the project site on Wednesday, Minister Ghising said the long-delayed bridge has become a matter of national concern. “The Ghumaune Bridge must be completed at any cost. Supreme Court questions Attorney General over dropped case in fertility clinic scandal

The revelation of an alleged illegal trade involving the eggs of minor girls has cast a long shadow over Nepal’s in-vitro fertilization (IVF) sector, triggering serious concerns about regulation, ethics and accountability in fertility treatment. IVF is a medical process in which fertilization takes place outside a woman’s body, in a laboratory. In recent years, the growing problem of infertility has led to a rapid rise in IVF centres across Nepal, promising hope to childless couples. However, the sector has now come under intense scrutiny following allegations that minors were exploited and their eggs sold for profit.

Kathmandu deputy mayor calls for stronger local role in international projects

Dangol made the remarks while presenting at the “Cities and Regions for International Partnerships 2025 Forum” held at the European Union headquarters in Brussels from December 8 to 10. She said local governments should have meaningful participation with authority and ownership in such initiatives.

Controversy erupts over nominated delegates ahead of UML’s 11th national convention

The Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has released the list of 108 nominated delegates for its 11th national convention, scheduled to begin today. With these nominations, a total of 2,262 delegates are set to participate in the convention. However, the release of the list has sparked controversy within the party. Senior Vice Chair Ishwar Pokharel, a candidate for the party’s top post, expressed serious disagreement with the nominated list.

At Friday’s secretariat meeting, it was reportedly agreed between Chair KP Sharma Oli and Pokharel that the 108 delegates would be finalized jointly. Pokharel claimed that, despite this agreement, the list was published unilaterally this morning.
