KATHMANDU: Prime Minister K P Oli today launched the 4G service of the Nepal Telecom in all seven provinces of the country.
The telecom, which had started its 4G service in Kathmandu and Pokhara from January 1, 2017, has expanded its services in more than major 50 urban areas having more business transactions and high population density.
According to Nepal Telecom’s spokesperson Pratibha Baidya, the towers have already been installed for the expansion of the service.
According to her, the 4G service would start in places like Birtamod, Damak, Biratnagar, Inaruwa, Chandragadhi, Dhankuta, Dharan, Jasleshwar, Janakpur, Bara, Parsa, Simara, Malangawa, Kalaiya and Gaur.
Likewise, Dhading, Sundhupalchok, Bidur, Kavrepalanchok, Bhimeshwar, Sindhulimadhi, Manthali, Kushma, Parbat, Chitwan, Baglung, Taulihawa, Sauraha, Devdaha, Butwal, Ghorahi, Tulsipur, Kohalpur, Nepalgunj, Bhimdattanagar, Jhalari, Surkhet, Chaumala, Pipaladi, and Attariya will also benefit from this service.
The government has plans to expand the 4G LTE service throughout the country until February 12, 2020.
