Authorities step up Bailey bridge construction in Syafrubensi

RASUWA: Authorities have stepped up efforts to install a Bailey bridge at Syafrubensi to restore motorable access to the area.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) and the local administration are coordinating efforts to construct the bridge.

Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pande and NDRRMA Executive Chief Dharma Raj Uprety visited various construction sites in the Syafrubensi area, which was devastated by the August 26 glacial disaster.

A motorable bridge connecting Syafrubensi with Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, was destroyed by the flash flood. A foundation for the replacement bridge has already been constructed.

According to the local administration, construction work is underway around the clock to complete the bridge before the Tihar festival.

The District Administration Office has provided steel cables needed for the installation of the bridge.
