President Paudel to present govt’s Policies and Programs tomorrow



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel is set to present the government’s Policies and Programs for the Fiscal Year 2082/83 BS (2025/26 AD) before a joint session of the Federal Parliament at 3:00 PM on May 2.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, preparations for the address are in their final stages.

The President will deliver his speech to a joint session of the National Assembly and the House of Representatives at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.

Chief Justice, office bearers of constitutional bodies, senior government officials, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Kathmandu, as well as leaders and members of the private sector, have been invited to attend the session.

To ensure the security of the event, a security rehearsal has been scheduled for Friday morning.

Following the joint session, separate meetings of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will be held to extend a formal vote of thanks to the President for presenting the government’s policies and programmes, said Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Eakram Giri.

During the meeting, a letter from the Office of the President regarding the appointment of Kham Bahadur Garbuja as Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation will also be read out.
