Clean, safe drinking water is a practical right: Minister Yadav

SUNKOSHI: Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has stated that clean and safe drinking water is no longer just an aspiration for Nepali citizens but is now being realized as a practical right.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Nangedanda Comprehensive Pumping Drinking Water Scheme in Wards 5 and 6 of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhuli, Minister Yadav emphasized that ensuring access to safe drinking water—from remote villages to urban centers—is a top priority of the government.

“We are taking a significant step toward building a prosperous and healthy Nepal, where clean water is no longer a dream, but a guaranteed right,” said Yadav.

He further stressed that access to clean water is not a service or luxury, but a fundamental right and essential to human life.

“This scheme being inaugurated today is a testament to our commitment. I am confident that every brother and sister here will benefit directly from it,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Minister Yadav said the Nangedanda project is a successful example of joint effort between the federal government, local authorities, and citizens.

“This initiative supports the government’s goal of ensuring ‘safe water in every household’ and will play a key role in improving public health and promoting local prosperity,” he said.
