Over 1,100 people benefit from free health camp in Myagdi



MYAGDI: A free health camp held in Beni provided medical services to over 1,100 individuals on Wednesday.

The two-day camp, focused on heart disease screening and treatment, was organized jointly by six local levels, including the District Coordination Committee, Myagdi, with technical support from the Martyr Gangalal National Heart Centre, Kathmandu.

According to Amrit Subedi, Section Officer at the District Coordination Committee, a total of 1,115 people received medical care at the camp, which was conducted at Myagdi Multiple Campus.

Beneficiaries included residents of Myagdi as well as locals from Jaljala Rural Municipality in Parbat.

A 10-member medical team led by cardiologist Dr. Rabi Malla provided general check-ups, heart disease counseling, and diagnostic tests such as blood sugar screening, ECG, and echocardiography.

Acting Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Dil Kumari Khatri, stated that the camp aimed to raise public awareness about heart disease and improve access to timely treatment.

Additionally, 152 individuals—including health workers, elected representatives, security personnel, and government employees—received first aid training during the event.
