Over Rs 4.3 million collected from Mahayagya in Sankhe



KATHMANDU: A total of Rs 4.337 million has been collected from the Mahayagya organized in Sankhe, Shuklagandaki Municipality-11, with the aim of promoting religious tourism.

The event was held to support the development of religious tourism in the region, particularly around the 120-year-old Shiva temple in Sankhe, said Neelkantha Aryal, chair of the temple management committee.

At the concluding ceremony, Shuklagandaki Municipality Mayor Krishnaraj Pandit emphasized that the Mahayagya would play a significant role in preserving Sanatan Dharma.

The Shiva temple is a popular pilgrimage site, attracting devotees from Tanahun, Syangja, and various other parts of Nepal—especially during Shivaratri.

The area also features archaeological structures of cultural significance, including Jantedhunga and Sita Paila.kha
