BHOJPUR: The construction of a concrete bridge over the Kawakhola River has been completed.
The bridge connects the district headquarters with the southern region of Bhojpur, linking Ranibas in Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality-2 and Manebhanyang in Ramprasadrai Rural Municipality-5.
The completion of the bridge has brought relief to local residents. It was built at a cost of Rs 46 million.
Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality Chair Prem Kumar Rai stated that the bridge directly benefits the people of the southern part of the district.
It has improved transportation and facilitated the marketing of agricultural produce.
Bichari Thapa, Ward Chair of Hatuwagadhi-2, mentioned that the bridge has ended the risk residents previously faced when crossing the river.
The foundation stone for the bridge was laid on 12th Falgun 2076, with financial support from the Swiss government.
However, during construction, the bridge collapsed in Mangsir 2078. It was subsequently rebuilt and has now been completed.
