KATHMANDU: UK Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, met with Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, today during the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme event organized by the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre.

During the meeting, Minister Khadka expressed gratitude for the UK’s continued support in Nepal’s renewable energy sector through UK Aid.

He highlighted the longstanding 209-year relationship between Nepal and the UK, acknowledging the UK’s assistance in post-quake reconstruction and renewable energy initiatives.

He also requested the UK government to consider extending the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme (NREP), which is set to end on March 31, by two more years.

Ambassador Fenn praised Nepal’s commitment to hydropower and renewable energy development, noting its positive impact on India’s clean energy mission.
