Cable car dispute: Clash erupts again in Taplejung, 12 injured including protesters and police

TAPLEJUNG:  A fresh clash broke out in Taplejung on Thursday over the construction of a cable car in Pathibhara. The confrontation occurred at Kaflepati, the base station construction site.

The clash erupted between the ‘No Cable Car’ group and the police deployed for security. Protesters pelted stones, prompting security forces to fire seven rounds of tear gas to control the situation.

According to the District Police Office, Taplejung, 12 people were injured in the incident, including 11 armed police officers and one protester.
