North-South Koshi Highway comes into operation

KATHMANDU: The Khandbari-Kimanthangka road section in Sembung of Bhotkhola rural municipality-3 of Sankhuwasabha under the north-south Koshi highway has come into operation. It had remained blocked by a dry landslide a day ago.

Naresh Jirel, Information Officer of the North-South Road Office, said that the Khandbari-Kimanthanka road at Bhotkhola-3 SembungDanda was opened after a day.

A dry landslide that fell on Friday afternoon blocked more than 20 meters of unpaved road along the section. Jirel said that the section of the road, which was blocked by a dry landslide with large stones falling on the road, has been re-opened after clearing the debris since this morning.

Vehicles traveling to Bhotkhola Rural Municipality were stopped after the road was blocked.
Bhotkhola road section of Koshi highway continues to be blocked from time to time due to repeated dry landslides in the area.
