NEPALGUNJ:  With Dashin festival just around the corner, the price of meat has soared. The price of meat has gone up since the last few months. According to traders involved in the sale of meat, the price has gone up with an Indian ban on the supply of goats.

The price of mutton was Rs 700 four-five months back. Now it has reached Rs 800.

According to Sagdik Kuresi, a slaughterhouse operator in Nepalgunj, the price of mutton has has gone up primarily due to two reasons – ban on goats supplies by India and fast-approaching Dashain festival.

The price is likely to go even higher, he added.
