7 killed, 6 injured in Darchula jeep accident

DARCHULA: Seven people died in a jeep accident in Malikarjun, Darchula on Friday morning.

Six others sustained injuries in the incident, police said.

According to the District Police Office in Darchula, the ill-fated jeep was heading toward Gokule from Malikarjun when it crashed at Shailyashikhar Municipality-6 at approximately 4 am on Friday.

The accident site is located about 40 kilometers from the district headquarters in Khalanga.

The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed.

The injured individuals have been transported to Gokule Hospital for treatment with the assistance of local police.
