Madhesh Province to construct modern washrooms

DHANUSHA: Madhesh Province has announced plans to construct three modern washrooms in Janakpur city.

These facilities aim to enhance convenience for tourists and promote local tourism business, according to Dr. Sohan Sah, Vice Chair of the Province Policy and Planning Commission.

He emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader beautification program.

“The increase in domestic and local tourists in Janakpur recently highlights the need for modern amenities,” Dr. Shah noted. “This project builds on past beautification efforts while addressing current needs.”

The washrooms will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 million. Locations were selected based on necessity and priority, as shared by Dr. Shah.

A team, including Vice Chair Shah, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah, and Sushil Sah, Officiating Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism in the Province, identified the sites for the project: the Janakpurdham bus park, the southern area of Ram Mandir, and the space between the Covered Hall and Manipal.

Additionally, the team has designated land for a cultural tourism park at Tirahutiya Gachhi in Janakpurdham.

The provincial government has allocated Rs 4 million for the park’s construction, which will feature various facilities, including a gymnasium.
