Govt. will ensure treatment to everyone injured in disasters: Health Minister

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has said anyone injured in the recent disaster would not be deprived of medical treatment, as the government was ready for the treatment.

“Irrespective of the severity of injury, government is ready to provide treatment to all those who suffered and injured in the disasters occurred in different places of the country,” Minister Paudel said, while acquiring information about those receiving treatment at National Trauma Centre.

The injured ones would get free treatment, he assured. Minister Paudel reminded the health institutions need to provide service at such dire need.

The hospitals could provide the facilities of transportation of those injured critically, he suggested.

Moreover, the Minister shared that how the pure drinking water could be ensured to the people in the wake of disaster that could cause disease and epidemic.

Discussion with the related ministry was held to this regard, he added.

According to the Minister, government was planning to organize health caps in the flood-hit areas.

Coordination with the local and provincial levels would be built for smooth works. So far, 24 persons have received treatment at Trauma Centre, while 13 are discharged after getting treatment. Few of them underwent surgery.
