KATHMANDU: With the monsoon trough positioned at its usual location, the combined influence of the monsoon air and the low-pressure system in and around the northwest of Madhya Pradesh, India, is affecting weather conditions across Nepal.

As of Friday morning, the weather in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces has shifted from normal to significantly altered.

The rest of the country is experiencing partly to mostly changeable weather.

According to the Weather Forecast Division, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The rest of the provinces are expected to be partly to mostly cloudy.

There is also a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Heavy rain with gale-force winds may occur in a few locations in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and potentially in one or two hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Very heavy rain is also likely in a few places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

At night, Sudurpaschim Province is expected to be partly to completely cloudy.

The rest of the provinces will see partial to general showers, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
