CHITWAN: Heavy rains have been ongoing since this morning in the Madi area of Chitwan.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, intense rainfall has been reported in Madi and surrounding areas over the past three hours, with expectations for this pattern to persist.

In light of the current situation, the District Administration Office of Chitwan has issued a warning about the high risk of flash floods in the Riyu River and its tributaries.

Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav has urged residents in riverbank and low-lying areas to exercise heightened vigilance until 2 p.m. today.

The Kalyanpur Rain Gauge Center has indicated that heavy rain may continue in the Madi area.

Prajia Yadav has advised the public to stay alert for the possibility of sudden floods, particularly in the Riu River and its tributaries.

Local residents report that the rivers frequently cause significant damage in Madi, even during normal rainfall.

Overflowing small rivers can dramatically increase the risk of flooding and inundation.

Additionally, Bharatpur has been experiencing torrential rain since this morning.

The local administration has advised all residents to remain alert and take necessary safety precautions.

The Division has forecasted continued rain in the region for the coming days.

Citizens haved been advised to stay in safe areas and follow emergency notifications.
