Supreme Court shifts verdict date on Ncell tax row



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday shifted the day to announce a verdict on a separate case filed by Ncell over the capital gains tax row.

The private telecommunication company had filed a writ at the apex court on the capital gains tax case that was settled by a full bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Advocate Ramesh Ghimire on behalf of Ncell had filed a writ at the apex court on May 8 demanding the court’s order to waive the tax determined by the Large Tax Payers Office.

The case is currently being heard by a broader full bench of the apex court comprising Justices Tej Bahadur KC, Purusottam Bhandari, Dambar Bahadur Sahi, Puspalata Mathema and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma.
