Police confiscate 712 sacks of chemical fertilizer



BIRGUNJ: The Parsa District Police have confiscated 712 sacks of chemical fertilizer worth Rs one million.

The urea fertilizer, brought illegally from India, was discovered hidden in a store.

Each sack weighed 50 kg, according to Dipak Bharati, Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The police acted on a tip-off to make the seizure.

In connection with the illegal supply of the chemical fertilizer, the police have apprehended 62-year-old Gyan Bahadur Mahato from Kawasoti Municipality-9 of Nawalparasi.

Legal action has been initiated against him.

The confiscated fertilizer was handed over to the Customs Office in Birgunj on Friday.
