Election Commission, Nepal calls all-party meeting

KATHMANDU:  Election Commission, Nepal (ECN) has held an all-party meeting to hold by-elections for the posts of  people’s representatives lying vacant in the House of Representatives, Provincial Assembly and local units.

Top leaders of 18 parties attended the meeting. The meeting had been called  to dwell on the election process and the date for the elections, said Shankar Prasad Pokharel, spokesperson of the ECN.

As many as 28 posts of people’s representatives from House of Representatives to the ward members are lying vacant due to death and resignation.
