Lumbini CM Mahara garners vote of confidence



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister Jokh Bahadur Mahara has garnered a vote of confidence in Lumbini Province.

During Friday’s Province Assembly meeting, Mahara secured the support of 48 lawmakers.

He received votes of confidence from 29 members of the CPN-UML, 10 from the Maoist Center, four from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, three from Janata Samajbadi Party, one from the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, and one from an independent member.

While the opposition comprised 27 members from the Nepali Congress and one from Rastriya Janamorcha.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, which have four and three lawmakers respectively, did not show up in the assembly today.
