Constitutional Council meeting taking place today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, in a bid to foster national consensus, has called a meeting of the Constitutional Council today.

Meanwhile, he has emphasized his efforts to bring all political factions to the table for dialogue.

On Saturday, he convened a meeting of top leaders of three major political parties – Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Maoist Center — held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar where they engaged in “constructive” discussions.

Among the topics discussed were the finalization of the peace process and the smooth functioning of the regular parliament.

Prime Minister Dahal, UML Chairman KP Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Dueba delved into pressing national issues.

According to Prime Minister Dahal’s Press Adviser, Govind Acharya, the meeting also focused on prioritizing parliamentary business and advancing a unified approach towards national challenges.
