KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has emphasized the necessity of establishing a new power equation to accelerate government operations and foster collaboration among communist forces.

Addressing a gathering of party leaders and cadres in Pokhara this morning, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his viewpoint, highlighting the need for a revamped approach to governance.

He remarked that the Nepali Congress has repeatedly disappointed, making it improbable for votes to be ‘transferred’ from the Congress to their party.

Dahal noted the existing challenges, citing a lack of momentum in government activities alongside growing distrust within the coalition. He advocated for the formation of a fresh coalition to address these issues effectively.

During the event, the CPN (Maoist Center) chair announced plans for a month-long nationwide campaign aimed at bolstering the party’s strength.

“We are initiating a comprehensive national awareness campaign spanning the Tarai-Madhesh region from east to west. This campaign will also integrate the mountains, hills, and Tarai-Madhesh regions,” he stated.

Regarding governance in Gandaki province, Dahal disclosed ongoing preparations for potential leadership transition within the Maoist party.

“We are in the process of strategizing the formation of government in Gandaki. Once finalized, we will proceed accordingly,” he affirmed.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of defending and fortifying the constitution, alongside consolidating the communist movement, as key pillars for forging a new coalition at the center.

“A fragmented communist movement paves the way for heightened influence of reactionary forces in national politics, leading to governance crises.

We have successfully tackled this challenge, steering the country’s politics on the right trajectory,” Dahal concluded.
