Govt actively engaged in repatriating Nepalis from Russia-Ukraine conflict: FM Saud



BHAIRAHAWA: Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud has assured that the government is diligently working to repatriate Nepali nationals caught up in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, particularly those who have joined the Russian army.

Addressing the 65th Annual General Meeting of Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister Saud affirmed that diplomatic channels are being actively utilized to coordinate with Russia for the safe return of Nepali citizens.

“We are coordinating with the International Red Cross and maintaining continuous communication with the United Nations,” he stated.

Minister Saud informed that the government has received 244 complaints regarding the Nepali nationals stranded in Russia and emphasized the efforts being made to provide assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in the conflict.

Furthermore, Minister Saud urged individuals to refrain from joining the army of any foreign nation without prior approval from the government, highlighting the risks involved in such actions.
