Govt appoints Chandika Bhatta as NOC Executive Director

KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Chandika Bhatta as the Executive Director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).

The Cabinet meeting on Sunday took a decision to this regard, according to Minister for Communications and Information, Rekha Sharma.

The government also decided to extend the term of a probe committee on dispute relating to electricity tariff for the dedicated feeder and trunk line subscribers.

Similarly, a taskforce has been formed under the coordination of secretary at Home Ministry to submit a revised draft of work procedure brought in 2074 to determine the status of disability among the people injured during armed conflict. The committee has been asked to submit report within two months.

The Cabinet endorsed the National Transmission (12th amendment) Regulation, 2080 and decided to allow the presentation of bill designed to amend the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 in the federal parliament Minister Sharma who is also the government spokesperson informed that Bhupendra Bhandari was appointed Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), while Dr Pramod Joshi a member of Nepal Health Research Council.

The Cabinet meeting approved the Probation and Parole Policy, 2080, and decided to send the report of the probe committee on dispute over NCell share sale to the related agency for implementation.
