Indian national arrested with 7 kg gold and 6 kg silver in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: The District Police Office, Kaski, has arrested an individual with more than 7 kilograms of gold and more than 6 kilograms of silver.

The arrested person is Surajit Bhaumik, a 40-year-old resident of Dasapur-11, Medinipur, West Bengal, India, currently residing in Pokhara-2, Mohariya Tol.

According to information provided by the Kaski Police, jewelry and raw gold weighing 7.781 kg were seized from Jay Bhairav Jewelers, located in Mohoriya Tol, Pokhara, where Bhaumik has been the proprietor.

In addition to the seized 6 kilograms of silver, Bhaumik was also found in possession of cash amounting to Rs 6,281,000 during the arrest on Tuesday morning.

The police are investigating for further details
