Nepal-Canada Bilateral Series: Nepal loses fifth wicket

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Canada are currently engaged in a bilateral cricket series at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu, with Nepal batting first after winning the toss.

In the ongoing match, Nepal has faced a setback as they lost their fifth wicket with the game progressing into the 35th over, having accumulated a total of 169 runs.

The most recent dismissal was that of Kushal Malla, who contributed 20 runs to the team’s total. Prior to Malla’s departure, opener Kushal Bhurtel made a notable contribution with 62 runs, while Bhim Sarki added 17 runs to the scoreboard.

Nepal encountered an early setback with the dismissals of Aasif Sheikh and captain Rohit Poudel, both departing after scoring only eight runs each.

Currently, Aarif Sheikh and Pawan Saraf are at the crease, with Aarif batting at 28 runs and Pawan at 8 runs.

The upcoming matches in the series include the 2nd ODI scheduled for February 10 and the 3rd ODI on February 12.
