PM Cup Cricket: Unbeaten Police Club secures eighth victory with a dominating 103-run win over Lumbini



KATHMANDU: In the Prime Minister’s Cup One-Day Cricket, Nepal Police Club has clinched a commanding 103-run victory against Lumbini province.

The match took place at Mulpani Cricket Ground, where the Police, batting first, set a target of 246 runs after losing all wickets in the designated 38 overs.

Due to weather conditions, the match was reduced to 38 overs per side. Aarif Sheikh of the Police contributed significantly with 76 runs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel added 48 runs, while Karan KC aggressively completed an attacking half-century with 57 runs off 27 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Lumbini’s Nar Sarki claimed 4 wickets, with Bir Magar taking 3 and Krishna Karki and Abhishek Gautam sharing one each.

Lumbini, chasing the target of 246 runs, managed to score only 142 runs in 36.3 overs before being bowled out. Dilsad Ail and Nar Sarki scored 36 and 31 runs, respectively, while others struggled to make significant contributions.

Police’s Kushal Bhurtel took 3 wickets, and Karan KC secured 2 wickets, while Lalit Rajbanshi, Sagar Dhakal, Rasid Khan, and Roshan Budhathoki each claimed one wicket.

This win marks Police Club’s eighth consecutive victory in the ongoing Prime Minister’s Cup, securing a place in the final earlier in the competition.
