Nepal-India relations progressing in a unique manner: Foreign Minister Saud

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud has remarked that Nepal-India relations are evolving in a constructive and distinctive manner.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu by the Nepal-India Friendship Society on the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the already robust relationship at the people’s level would be further solidified through discussions and resolutions based on various dimensions during the discourse and analysis.

Minister Saud stated, “Considering the treaty and border issues dating back to 1950, decisions must be made with the interests of the people in mind, taking into account both material and practical aspects. Despite both countries being friendly nations, providing training and education to security personnel stationed in border areas is crucial to ensure their conduct aligns with values towards citizens residing in those regions.”

Expressing his satisfaction with India’s genuine and friendly approach towards Nepal, Minister Saud expects India to earnestly cooperate in resolving issues related to Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura.

He expressed hope that both countries could collaboratively address challenges.

Minister Saud emphasized the need for joint efforts between the two countries and pointed out that Nepal has experienced economic and prosperous benefits over the past 75 years through India’s positive presence among global nations.

He urged both nations to further strengthen their relations based on shared language and culture.
