PM Dahal announces declaration of 3,000 additional martyrs soon, promises comprehensive recognition

Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal revealed that the government has finalized the decision to declare more than 3,000 individuals as martyrs. Speaking at an event organized by the Martyrs Academy Nepal, PM Dahal confirmed that those who lost their lives during the Maoist insurgency, totaling over 3,000 people, have been officially designated as martyrs by the government. The comprehensive list is set to be published in the Nepal Gazette.

KMC introduces free parking facility near Dharahara starting Sunday

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled plans to offer free parking at a designated building near Dharahara starting from this Sunday.This initiative comes in response to the decision to restrict on-road parking in the New Road area. In addition to the Dharahara parking facility, the KMC has already identified the Kathmandu Tower as another location where commuters can avail free parking services. The decisions have been implemented to align with the local authorities’ efforts to manage traffic effectively.

Maoist Center affirms stability in federal coalition despite Koshi floor-crossing

The CPN-Maoist Center has asserted that the ruling coalition at the federal level and in other provinces will remain unchanged, despite the recent incident of floor-crossing during the National Assembly elections in Koshi province. Following consultations with party committees at both provincial and central levels, the Maoist Center has informally decided to maintain the coalition intact. “The coalition has demonstrated success in six provinces, with Koshi being an exception. The Nepali Congress should take action against those who deviated from the coalition decision. However, this incident is not expected to immediately alter the central alliance. Koshi’s coalition has suffered a significant setback,” stated a party source.

Former King Gyanendra Shah expresses concerns over misconceptions about himself and his family

Former King Gyanendra Shah has voiced his concerns and confusion regarding the Royal Palace massacre, indicating that it has led to misconceptions about him and his family. Speaking at a program organized in Birgunj on Saturday, the former King commented on the tragic incident that occurred on June 1, 2001, stating that it resulted in his self-isolation and planted negative sentiments in the minds of the Nepali people. He also mentioned that his family had faced a fatal attack.

NC General Secretary Thapa initiates dialogue campaign to alleviate despair

Gagan Kumar Thapa, the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, emphasized the importance of dialogue and discussion as essential tools to address people’s despair and tackle their problems. The Nepali Congress has launched a dialogue campaign to engage with the public and uplift society, connecting the party more closely with the community, Thapa declared. Speaking at a program organized as part of the dialogue campaign in Mechipul, Jhapa, Thapa asserted that the campaign aims to alleviate disappointment within Nepali society.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ also the Chairman of CPN-Maoist Center, has stressed the unavoidable need for unity among Maoist factions to safeguard the transformative changes achieved through the people’s movement. Speaking at the 14th annual general assembly of the Sahid Pratisthan Nepal in Paris Danda, the headquarters of the Maoist Center, Prime Minister Dahal called upon leaders and activists who have strayed from Maoist ideology to come together and collaborate. Highlighting the state’s commitment to addressing the issues of martyrs, displaced individuals, and the injured, Prime Minister Dahal underscored the party’s responsibility in guiding these families to realize their aspirations.
