APF thrashes Gandaki Province by 88 runs in PM Cup



KATHMANDU: In a match at the Mulpani cricket ground in Kathmandu, the Armed Police Force (APF) Club exhibited a dominant performance, defeating Gandaki Province by 88 runs in the Prime Minister Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament 2024 on Saturday.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Gandaki Province faced a formidable target set by APF, with Lokesh Bam leading the charge with 50 runs and Bhuvan Karki contributing 45 runs to the team’s total of 208 runs.

Pradip Airee and Puran BK further added 39 and 30 runs, respectively.

For Gandaki Province, Kamal Pariyar took three wickets, while Bipin Khatri, Amrit Gurung, and Sandeep Parajuli each secured two wickets in an attempt to contain APF’s batting lineup.

Chasing the target of 208 runs, Gandaki Province’s Sameer Kandel scored 33 runs, Ishwor Chhetri contributed 28 runs, and Bipin Khatri added 18 runs to the team’s total.

However, the bowling prowess of Amar S Routela from APF was unmatched, taking four crucial wickets.

His teammates Mousam Dhakal claimed three wickets, Bhuvan Karki secured two, and Ramesh Kurmi took one wicket, ultimately restricting Gandaki Province from reaching the target.
