Bharatpur Metropolitan City inaugurating Bharatpur Visit Year on March 1

CHITWAN: Bharatpur Metropolitan City (BMC) has geared up to launch Bharatpur Visit Year on March 1, marking the commencement of a tourism promotion campaign.

The executive committee of the Metropolis recently made this decision, and the inauguration is set to witness the presence of the Prime Minister, former Prime Ministers, ministers, dignitaries, and an anticipated crowd of over 50,000 individuals.

Originally slated for January, the Metropolis deferred the inaugural event to March 1, citing the need for additional preparation.

Dr. Bishwa Subedi, tourism advisor of the BMC, shared that the launch will bring together key figures from the tourism sector at federal, provincial, and local levels.

To encourage the active participation of local residents in the inauguration, ward chairpersons from all 29 wards in the Metropolis have been assigned.

Rallies and cultural processions featuring elephants are scheduled to traverse each ward, converging at the scenic Narayani River side.

Bharatpur boasts seven major tourist destinations, and an additional 21 have been highlighted for the Bharatpur Visit Year.

Spearheading the initiative is the 2,024-member Main Organizing Committee, coordinated by BMC Mayor Renu Dahal, dedicated to ensuring the success of Bharatpur Visit Year, with an estimated campaign cost of 60 million.

The ambitious campaign aims to attract over 200,000 international and 500,000 domestic tourists to Chitwan district during the Bharatpur Visit Year.

On the eve of the inaugural ceremony, local artists are set to captivate the audience with a cultural program on the banks of the Narayani River.
