One dies in cooking gas explosion in Chitwan

CHITWAN: A 50-year-old man has died when cooking gas leaked from a cylinder in Phulbari, western Chitwan on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Manish Thapa, an inhabitant of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15, Deurichok, Chitwan.

According to DSP Shreeram Bhandari of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Thapa died on Monday when the gas leakage occurred while he was cooking in his room.

The incident occurred within the premises of a local Abinash Fertilizer Company.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing, DSP Bhandari added.
