Govt asked to disclose details of Nepal-India agreement within seven days 



KATHMANDU: The Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee has instructed the government to disclose details of the recently inked agreement between Nepal and its southern neighbor, India.

During a convened meeting on Wednesday, where Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was summoned, the Committee probed the Prime Minister for insights into the agreement, directing the government to present a detailed account within seven days.

The focus of scrutiny lies on the High-impact Community Development Project Deal signed during the recent visit of Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.

This accord has sparked controversies and raised concerns among the general public in the past few days.

Prime Minister Dahal, addressing the committee, sought to allay fears, emphasizing that the agreement does not empower India to unilaterally select and execute projects.

The Prime Minister underscored a collaborative approach in the implementation of the projects outlined in the deal.
