KATHMANDU: President of Nepal Students Union, a student wing of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Nainsingh Mahar, has tendered his resignation from his post on Monday.

Mahar tendered his resignation at the central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress saying that he could not conduct the long overdue NSU elections.

NC had heaped pressure on Mahar, asking him to pave the way for the formation of an ad-hoc committee in the students’ organization. The party is preparing to form an ad-hoc committee of the NSU through a meeting.
