Narayani River’s water level still beyond danger mark

BHARATPUR: The water level in the rain-fed Narayani River is still exceeding the danger mark.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the Narayani River has exceeded the danger level as of 5.51 am this morning.

The River crossed the risk level at 9.30 pm last night. The department sources said now the river current level is measured at 7.7 meters in Devghat and 11.15 meters in the Narayani Bridge at Narayangarh.

The river is considered to have crossed the danger level when it is 7.3 meters in Devghat and 11 meters in Narayangarh.

Earlier, the water level in the Narayani River was measured at 7.43 meters last July 8.

With the constant rise in the water level in the river, the local administrations have asked the riverside settlements in Chitwan and Nawalparasi to adopt safety alerts.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, heavy rainfall is likely to take place in different parts of the country.
